Nestled in the tranquil countryside near Columbus, Ohio, our farm barn wedding venue offers couples and their guests an unforgettable experience that combines rustic charm with timeless elegance. What sets our venue apart is its connection to the land, history, and natural beauty, offering a distinctive setting for your special day. From the rolling fields to the historic barn itself, here’s a closer look at the touches that make our venue truly one of a kind.
A Close Encounter with Farm Life: Our Cattle
One of the highlights of our venue is the opportunity to connect with the heart of farm life. Our cattle graze peacefully in their pastures. Guests may even have the chance to feed the cattle, creating a fun and memorable experience for all ages. We’ve noticed that children especially love to pet and interact with the animals. Every late spring, during calving season, you’ll get to glimpse some of our baby cows and they romp around and nap in the grass.
The cattle also provide a stunning natural backdrop for photos. As you can see, Ross and Kayle took full advantage in their shoot, capturing some adorable candids.
Fields of Beauty and Bounty
Surrounding the venue are expansive fields that transform with the seasons, making every wedding unique. Depending on the year, these fields may be filled with rows of golden corn, lush soybeans, or picturesque hay bales. Each setting offers its own charm and serves as a breathtaking setting for your ceremony, reception, or wedding photos.
You will want to keep the seasons in mind when choosing a wedding date. Each season has its benefits. In the spring, the corn or soybeans will be just starting to grow. The earth is coming alive, and the colors may be a bit softer. During the summer, the flowers should be in full bloom. This time is the most green, which can contrast nicely with a white dress. The hay bales start to appear later in the summer. Of course, in the fall, the landscape will take on more oranges and browns. This makes for a lovely golden hour sunset. Though not usually the most popular, I love to see the farm in the winter. There is an openness and barren beauty not found any other time of the year. When there’s snow covering the ground, the fields take on a new pure aesthetic.
Thoughtfully Designed Flowers and Landscaping
Our venue’s flowers and landscaping are meticulously planned to complement the natural beauty of the farm. Vibrant blooms, rustic planters, and carefully curated greenery create a harmonious blend of elegance and rural charm. If you visit our venue in the summer, you’ll see an isle of wildflowers leading you toward the great sycamore tree alongside Dry Run. A mix of rocks and foliage around the pond and windmill create a blend between the industrial and natural elements of the farm.
These thoughtfully designed spaces not only provide stunning photo opportunities but also create an inviting atmosphere for your guests. Whether they’re strolling through the gardens or enjoying a moment of reflection, the landscaping adds a touch of refinement to the rustic setting.
Secluded and Serene Location
One of the most common comments that we get from visiting couples is about how quiet it is on the farm. Its seclusion is one of the greatest advantages of our venue. Situated off the beaten path, the venue offers a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Here, you won’t be distracted by the sounds of traffic or the glare of city lights. Instead, you’ll be surrounded by the soothing sounds of nature—chirping birds, rustling leaves, and the occasional moo from our cattle.
This sense of privacy on our 70-acre area allows you and your guests to fully immerse yourselves in the joy and celebration of the day. It’s the perfect setting for creating intimate moments and memories that will last a lifetime.
The Historic Barn Venue
At the heart of our venue is the barn, a historic structure that dates back to the 1850s. Lovingly restored to preserve its original character while incorporating modern amenities, the barn is a testament to the enduring beauty of craftsmanship and tradition. Its weathered hand-hewn beams, soaring ceilings, and the stone-work details throughout provide a warm and inviting space for your wedding festivities.
The barn’s rich history adds a layer of depth to your celebration, connecting your special day to generations of stories and memories. Whether you’re hosting a cozy ceremony or a lively reception, the barn offers a versatile space that can be tailored to your vision.
Enhancing Your Wedding Experience
To make your day even more special, our venue offers a variety of options to personalize your celebration. Here are a few ideas to help you make the most of the unique touches our venue provides:
Interactive Experiences: Encourage guests to feed the cattle, throw some fish food to the koi, or take a walk through the fields or along the creek to immerse themselves in the farm’s charm.
